2024 Whitetail Extravaganza (Semi-Live)

The switch has been flipped... saw more than 10 bucks this morning... 3 shooters. One of them I want real bad. Passed on 4 bucks by my stand... one was the nontypical base point buck. Rained all night and some in the stand. A combination of factors has most these deer on the opposite corner of the field I'm set up on.

Being the proactive guy that I am... I put a new stand over there which works for the wind direction that's coming the next few days. There's a real beauty that's gonna get it in the morning. All day sit tomorrow... gonna make some liverworst sandwiches... stand by. Ed F

Give it to him Eddie..with no lube!! His time on earth is short...I consulted with the shaman... tommorow is your day ..

The last couple days have been slow for all of us. Full moon, warm windy weather, lockdown... it's all about being in the right place at the right time. Today is the first day of rifle season. I'm heading home tomorrow after the morning hunt. 17 days and a big storm lands here on Monday. Any decent buck might be getting the shaft. Ed F

That will work. Love the pic from the stand as well making me home sick for sure

And just like that it's over. At 9:20 this 8 point came in behind me. I did some ninja moves to get my bow around and grunted at him when he was in the last shooting lane. He stopped and I sent it. My new expandable blew up both shoulders. He did several nose dives... went down in 50 yards. Game over. Took my time and enjoyed the process of breaking him down and stuffing him in my ice chest. I passed up at least 6 bucks that were better... hoping to take down one of the bigger bucks that are here. Heading to Kansas in the morning to pick up my windmill and then home. Ed F1000002972.jpg
