Posting for my best friend. Him and his wife recently had a baby. Boomer, is about 7-8 years old 40-45lbs Medium sized dog. Great dog, great with other dogs and older children. He is your typical hound dog, sleeps all day but happy to see you when you come home. House broken and has a lot of obedience training. He likes to use his nose and could probably make a good companion in the field for anyone running dogs or if anyone wants to put him to work. He is collar conditioned as well.
Boomer is not adjusting well to baby life and the parents are worried that he is being too defensive when baby is in his space. He doesn't like mail men or delivery drivers (he will try to go after them) and needs a place to spend the rest of his days. I've personally spent a lot of time with this dog over the years and I'm confident he would do well with a fenced yard/ ranch. If anyone here or anyone you know might want to take him in, I would appreciate the help.
