Saw an article today on a California hunting Facebook page that a bill was proposed to altogether eliminate what they call “trophy hunting” bobcats. Apparently the Humane Society is pushing hard for this bill to go through. In the article they are trying to push their agenda by claiming “their is no good reason to kill bobcats” and bobcats only eat small rodents such as mice, squirrels, and rabbits. They don’t mention any of the benifts of predator management of course or the fact that bobcats love feasting on chickens and any other small pets/ farm animals around your house. Also, they don’t mention they can also wreak havoc on Turkey and will take fawns. Sure hope this bill doesn’t pass. The last thing our game animals need is even more predators unmanaged.

Fill all 5 of those tags in 2019 and dont stop till ya do. They already elimated trapping them in 2015. Soon we will be using our points on Coyote Tags untill they become protected.

This is from San Diego County Wildlife Federation. We need to take action!

AB-1254 (Sen. Ben Allen, who represent the Westside, Hollywood and the South Bay communities of Los Angeles County ) was introduced as a Gut and Amend Bill this week. If passed, it will end all legal take of bobcat in CA with the exception of depredation. This is another attack on hunting and ALL hunters need to get involved to keep the management of bobcats within the purview of the California Department of Fish and Game and the Fish and Game Commission. To read the gutted and amended bill, please go to the following link: http://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billNavClient.xhtml?bill_id=201920200AB1254

As a hunter of any species from mammals to waterfowl, this is another anti attack on a legal hunting method which requires a tag in order to take. It will result in a loss of revenue to the state from no tag sales and will actually cost more by having the department to handle more depredation cases. The bobcat is not an endangered species.

Please contact the members of the Assembly Water, Parks and Wildlife Committee and voice your opposition to this legislation. It will be heard in the committee on April 9th so make a few phone calls to the members. The only way we can stop this is by becoming active. If you think your method and species are not involved, you may be next! Get involved now. The members of the Assembly Water, Parks and Wildlife Committee can be found at: https://awpw.assembly.ca.gov/content/members-staff

Call their offices. If you write them an Email, you will have to use a zip code for the members area for the email to go through. Just open the link to their website and use the zip code of their local office.
