Big Blue Lake 8-4-16

Hit the ocean with Josh this morning....We were in the big ocean before daybreak....Nothing on bait ('dines), but soon switched over to burning swim baits by kelp patties and the calico bite was on....After a couple more stops with almost nothing, we headed inside.....The sand bass bite was red hot....Josh was killin' it on Gulp shad and I was using Big Hammer swim baits.....I didn't get nearly as many bites as Josh, but mine were bigger.....Ended the day with 5 lb. grumpy.....lol

We kept seven 15-17" fish......Released the big hen grumpy......Slow growers, good egg layer......

Nice. Looks like a fun day. I'm not gonna lie I love LMB but calico fishing is way more fun wish I was still in SoCal to do it.
