I hate to see anyone's home in jeopardy from these fires, but it is creating 1000's of acres of new habitat for all wildlife, especially deer.

The fast-moving Valley Fire in east San Diego County continued burning Monday as crews approached the third day of the firefight amid sweltering heat sweeping the region on Labor Day weekend — and even more fire risk still to come.

I can speak specially to this area. It held fantastic deer in the 70’s and 80’s and 90’s after the big fire. Even as a kid I would see good bucks. It’s just to overgrown, but the deer will be back soon.

I head, from a reliable source, that it appears to have started from an old tractor that was sitting in the sun with gas in the tank. The speculation is that the record heat caused the fuel thank to blow. Hopefully we'll know for sure in the future.

At least it wasn't a stupid gender reveal party . . .

Talked to Gen yesterday he's being evacuated before the Santa Ana winds hit Wednesday. He also told me the burns look like a moon scape nothing standing above ground. We lost a few old oaks again.

Figured Gen was in the crosshairs....If it burns too hot, it scorch's the earth...Takes years to recover...

Glad to hear your house is OK, so sorry for those who have lost there homes. We lost ours in the ‘07 fires, it sucks.

@Chris240 crazy scene in your pictures. We're praying the Santa Ana Winds don't play a role in this fire and it heads back our way. Regardless we have the motorhome packed and trailer hitched up ready to role.

Like most the fires here it hop scotches areas, leaving habitat for hides...The rest is in regrowth...All good for wildlife.

I could see the fire from my place it was huge, hope you all are safe. danger has not appeared for us, we are good so far.
