Only mortality I found was from lead poisoning.......... ;)


Most pigeons I've seen in many, many, many years......... :)

Haha. I was reading another article about those lesions the BTs get and it looks pretty nasty. Although I haven't seen any with it yet. The few I've dropped were healthy and had crops full of red berries.
 
Why cant we hunt rock pigeons? They are everywhere, invasive and a threat to native pigeons?

You can.....Also known as barnyard pigeons, domestic pigeon, rock dove, etc.

I always wonder if rural barnie pigeons also go back n forth from the city. Only reason I worry is because I saw one the other day in SD pecking at a cigarette butt and some old cheetos. That'd make for an interesting crop find.

is it year round? I couldn't find it on the dfg site. Are they the same as spotted doves?

Pigeons except for bandtails are year round same as Eurasian doves
