CDFW restricting boat use at Mendota thru Feb 13

Feb 13th?.....Well, that pretty much takes up the entire waterfowl season.....Preparing us for far less waterfowling opportunities in the future?...:worried:

" The control effort will likely take multiple YEARS to complete and trailered boat access will be reinstated when the current hyacinth infestation has been reduced"

This all comes down to lack of management. See it everywhere here in commiefornia. Forests, roads, bridges and we pay the highest taxes

Mike,

How's the situation in the Sac valley for water and ricers?....Did you lease again this year?

We did lease again this year. Our fields were planted but I know people who's leases were not planted. I have not been up there yet will be there in a couple weeks but I am really wondering what the flight patterns will be with lack of water and fallow fields

Sac valley: ‘If’ you have water, you should do great!

with a smaller harvest and less water, birds will be concentrated - unlike the ‘lake Sacramento’ days.

Competition for a spot on the public areas there will likely be greater than ever

I hope you get water and enjoy a good season.

We will be a dry field for geese. Still lots of unknowns even with geese with lack of water. Last year our south fields were flooded for the opener and the geese were in there heavy, You could walk down the levee at night to set decoys and they didn't lift
