Does anyone have a decent copper load for Muzzy’s. My adventure with Thor bullets on Monday was a bust. I saw today that McGuire is developing some copper muzzy bullets I may just wait to see but I curious what’s out there.

Bumped the charge up to 110 by volume of Black Horn 209 and got better accuracy with the Thor bullets. And put it on paper at 50 first to. And then worked out to 100 and then got one on at 200 and called it good IMG_1411.jpegIMG_1412.jpegIMG_1413.jpeg

My best load with a TC Omega is 90 grains of Blackhorn 209 with a Barnes Spitfire MZ BT bullet with black HPH-24 sabots. That gave a velocity of 1855 f/s with a 3-rounds touching group at 100 yards. I don't know what you are shooting, but that's my load. You may have to adjust the sabot depending on the tightness of your barrel, but 90 grains of BH 209 (assuming you are shooting an in-line) should do it. If you are shooting a traditional ML, I have always had the best luck with Pyrodex Select powder. I pretty much use Barnes bullets because I unfortunately live in Kalifornication, but Barnes bullets are all outstanding. Pig hunt 021.JPG
