Just saw a new bill proposed to establish a federal cormorant management plan and maybe eventually allow the take of cormorants.
Has anything like this been proposed in the past?
I don't know if anything has ever been "officially" proposed, but I think many of us have thought about "managing" those buggers at one time or another. I wonder how bad they'd taste, being that they're fish eaters

I have it on very good authority that they are inedible. Merganser can be eaten, and I have on my occasions with intentional and very flavorful preparation. Cormorants are beyond salvation. Hunting would be strictly to meet management objectives. They can't taste good. Myh guess is like merganser.
I "accidentally" harvested a Merganser a few years ago, and with the exception of vermin, if I shoot it, I eat it. I was actually surprised it wasn't too bad. I'm still thinking the cormorants wouldn't pass the taste test. I believe they may have to be classified as "vermin" also. They can't taste good. Myh guess is like merganser.
