Hey everyone! Just wanted to introduce myself ( again) I was lucky enough to spend all of last week up in the Crowley area with a seasoned upland and waterfowl hunter who lives up there. We spent four days hunting the Upper Owens and scouting around the Lower Owens. Had an absolute blast and managed to bag three mallards...
I plucked and breasted my first duck that same day and cooked it up in the camper. Honestly, one of the best pieces of meat I've ever eaten. Pretty hooked at this point! Also realizing I need to upgrade a few things in my kit, LOL.
I've put in for all the wednesdays at San Jacinto and might try some midweek sweatline days at Wister. I'm also really curious if anyone here has experience with boat-based hunting. I've got a couple of kayaks and a 14-foot inflatable I use for inshore fishing, and thinking that could add another fun element to the whole experience.
Anyways, I'm based in North San Diego County, have a camper, and love getting out and exploring. Would be great to connect with some folks down this way, learn a few things, and hopefully get out on some hunts together.
Also planning to make it to one of the turkey meetups in Poway as soon as I can. Looking forward to meeting some of you!
