D-16 Drive About Today...6-28-18

Scouted for rabbits, a lot of ground squirrels met their maker, and checked some trail cams....Sadly, still haven't seen a hen with poults in the Julian area....A few pix from today, including a really, really nice D-16 buck.

How did you find those BIG guys, all I'm gettin are the little squirrels. I did see a couple big bucks in D-16 as well. Looks to be a good year.

Isnt there a certain time of year to hunt squirrel, and i thought we cant hunt them in socal?

Yes there is a squirrel season and you need to travel to SLO to hunt them. What you saw was a ground grizzly.

No TREE squirrel hunting in SoCal....Kern Co. is about as close as there is.....GROUND squirrels are abundant down here, but no Bueno when it comes to eating them.

I shoot the furry tailed rats all year round. From 50 to 250 yards, great practice.
