D-8 Help

Planning a trip to hunt the southern portion of D-8 for archery season this year...looking for any information on a any good areas to camp and have access to public lands...we've looked into Fairview and Limestone and even more north. Has anyone else hunted north of lake isabella or near Johnsondale in the D-8 zone? Any info is appreciated

I have hunted outside of Springville but that was 10 years ago. No telling what has changed there but always saw deer outside of Springville.

Never hunted deer near Johnsondale or Roads End, but have hunted mountain quail many times in the early mt. quail season there......Great looking country and big.....Always saw deer and lots & lots of bear sign.
