So I was a little late on picking up a D14 deer tag this year and missed it. So I decided to pick up a black bear tag for the first time. I plan to go up to D14 to hunt but have no ideas where to start. Can anyone feed me some black bear hunting tips?

Don't know if this is D-14 or not, but my cousin who was a fireman said there were a lot around Pyramid Lake... ;)

I saw one run across the highway in front of me near angelus oaks. Never seen any scat or tracks while out scouting for deer though.

I was over there Labor Day weekend. Saw some tracks a few days old, but I think the amount of people out there driving and shooting their guns for the weekend along with the heat decreased a lot of activity. Going to try again between Angelus and Barton flats again, maybe venture over into San Gorgonio. We have one last weekend for archery till we have to wait for the general season in October.

North of Fawnskin I have seen signs of them.
