I am looking forward to seeing how that area produces in a few years. It was so damn thick in thereAnd in the cool of the day they will be easy to spot. In the brush they blend so well, they blend in perfectly.

They have calendars. There is this weird phenomenon on/in public land , not so much on private. As soon as deer season starts all the deer disapear.
I'm guessing, its 28k acres and on both sides of Ortega with only 7% containment so the forest might be closed down for months or maybe a couple of years.Did they shut the Forrest down??
Man, that’s a bummer D14 was my other tag gotta start looking for a backup. Do you know where I can look for Cleveland national Forest closures once they updated?I mean they basically just closed down 75% of D-14 (SBNF) through Nov 30 for the Line Fire.
I would bet they shut down everything from Ortega Hwy north to Maple Springs truck trail at a minimum.
The season (archery) has already begun so there's no exchanging your tag. However, your D-15 tag is also valid in units D-11 and D-13. Unfortunately you can also expect a a large portion of D-11 to be off-limits due to the Bridge fire. Time to get out and scout some contingency plans.

Where did you hear the SBNF closure is through November 30? I've seen the closure map, but nothing about how long it will be closed.I mean they basically just closed down 75% of D-14 (SBNF) through Nov 30 for the Line Fire.

This has been my experience as well. 2 year average closure for the many different burns that have affected my hunts.Expect 2 years.
That's been the minimum in burn areas.

That ridiculous. A LOT of that area is not in the burned area. The fire hasn't even crossed the 18 so there is no reason to close the area north of 18 and west of Rim of the World.Loading…
