I’ve been hunting and/or fishing for 40 years and there’s just no denying that beginners luck is real and powerful. Ive seen too many first times a guy head out on a sport boat and bag the fish of a lifetime. That’s part of the fun of this whole thing. In D16 I’ve been hunting over 10 years and have only seen or photographed 1 buck that even approaches that. I was hunting solo and we blundered into each other and I was busted.....and shocked. I’ve never seen one like that again.

Sweet for sure. Beginners luck and he had hunting buddies and a mentor put him on the spot, glassed it up...I think it makes a difference. Sooo.. I second that formula, guys with experience take a newb, share the meat. *raised hand here*

A buck like that is very rare for that zone on public, you would probably have better chances in the zones closer to you.
