Got out to the northern edge of the CNF this morning right before day break. Parked at a campsite, got out my jeep and there was a pack of at least 6-7 coyotes howling back at the entrance of the grounds, would have pursued them if they weren't so close to the campsites. I hike in and up a mountain for two hours , glassing every several hundred yards. It started to get hot so headed back to the car. Ran into two older women who were hiking and chatted with one for a few minutes. She recommended I go down the road anther 10 miles and drive up a fire service road up into higher elevations. Found the road and drove up about an hour. Passed a couple hunters who were driving back down. No deer spotted, but found some good looking areas up in the higher elevation. Until next time!

That's cool of those ladies. Sounds like they gave you a good tip.
