Deer Disease Outbreak

Blue tongue disease has killed deer for years here in SD Co...Just part of nature...This doe died soon after this picture.

wtf...can we in our life time see a very healthy local population in bigger numbers?
 
you did.... about 4 years after that big ass fire that burnt the whole county up. The site was loaded with tons of kill pics from all the deer harvested.

THIS^^^^^….2003 & 2007 fires....Before that, D-16 tags were always available...Then boom...Deer herds exploded...Now we're back to thick chaparral and poor habitat...Hence, the low % of kills.

You also gotta love our lack of leadership controlling the mountain lion population. Drought, fires, predators and along with housing development is why southern cal has low deer population. Let's just keep this trending and soon not to have any deer.....
 
It's normal yes.
But this is a outbreak.not to be confused with normal diseases.
