Deer scouting

Oh man..tubba you down in that d16..15 area? Think thay have them elusive hybrid kinda deer down there...id hunt them where the days are long..the air is thin ..and the nights are cold...id also wear copious amounts of orange...theres quite abit of new ness down there from what ive been reading over the years...one cannot shoot the deer...if one is not around to see the deer..just my 1.5 cents..l.

The orange will not matter, at least not in the northern part of D15 that I roam. It's too damn thick for another human to see you anyway when you're nestled into a spot.

Plus... you wouldn't want the occasional hikers to see you anyway, or their granola behinds would purposefully do stuff to thwart your game.

Besides... it's a lot more fun to bark out "MOVE!!... PLEASE!!!" in a booming voice and watch them startle in fear and look around in bewilderment trying to figure out where that came from! <evil grin>.

And on that point, that's one of the other reasons why you'll HAVE to be there during sun-up or and stay until sun-down. That way you're there during those times when the deer know no more hiker-humans are coming thru and feel safer. In general if you see hikers, you need to figure out where to go in there that's even more upstream along the path they might be taking when passing thru. But sometimes the advantage of choke-points in a certain areas in the middle of that vast sea of impenetrable chapparal warrants attempting to make a certain spot work. Depends on what your TrailCams show you.
