I don't follow gun laws as carefully as I should, so haven't heard of this one. Do you have a link to a discussion of this new development?

I did find that if you are convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence, you lose your guns forever according to federal statute. But that may be old news.

I saw where they are going after 400 ppl a per day are getting raided. Just sayin

I think that those 400 folks are probably ppl with outstanding warrants who come up on the radar as having guns. I think we would have seen news coverage if it were otherwise. California doesn't have state police only CHP, so that would mean that the Local police where the suspects live would be the arresting agency. If there were other serious crimes involved then the Locals might bring in one of the FED agencies with jurisdiction over the other offenses (beyond gun possession). Thats my take, but I would definitely assert that Sacramento wants to take our guns....

California does have a state police met one a few years back they mostly deal with crime on state held property.

I stand corrected Snake Man, I actually meant in comparison to the 1980s when CA. had state troopers and into the early 2000 when they still had BNE (Bureau of Narcotics Enforcement). But I doubt today's state police would be the ones rolling out on raids because they don't have the numbers (I could be wrong).

I think its for his kid. He made a post about it over at rokslide and everyone has an opinion. I told him to just get a muzzle brake and he is not a fan...my guess he will get a 243
