We took off of work and school on Friday to glass the hills. Saw a big forky on the drive in but it was on private. Took some pics and kept driving. Got set up on a lookout hill top and started spotting does.
Saw 2 coyotes working a herd of 4 does then they work on down the valley. 20 minutes later they came running back up being chased by a second pair of coyotes. I guess they were on someone else's territory. They fought it out for a while and chased each other up and down the valley. I captured part of it on video. I posted the video in another thread. I'll need to go back with the .204 after deer season to take a few out.
Right before sundown, I spotted a nice sized boar that I thought about stalking with my bow but didn't want to take away from her deer hunt.
The next morning I got out of my sleeping bag and started heating up some breakfast and I glanced down the hill as the sun started to come up and I spotted the same black pig. I may go back for him this weekend.
We spotted 19 does in the morning of the second day. At 9:30 I spotted a 2x2 at 400 yards and heading our way. At 262 yards she dropped him with her new .243 Great time in the outdoors with my little hunter. Next weekend she'll be a homecoming princess with her tiara.. She's a nice balance.
