My buddy drew blind 25 at cheatham wma this year and we built a blind out of an old pontoon boat. today was the second weekend of the season and the ducks were thick. We saw a thousand or so ducks and a few hundred geese. At first light I see a lone hen mallard and tell everyone to get down we start calling and she drops in and I fold her at under 20 yards. As me and my buddy are out in the decoys getting the bird the other guys with us whispers get down loudly and a group of mallards swing by and a greenhead goes down never to be found. And that was all the shots we had all day from first light until shooting stop time at 4:30 pm. I'm not joking when I say we had at least 100 groups start working only to get disinterested in a huge but motionless spread or flared by nearby gunfire. And not to mention birds that were far off that showed no interest what so ever. Could have been a way better day but I was just stoked to kill the first of the year for our group. It was also 40 degrees with windchill in the low 30s. I'm still freezing lol.

Lute,

What's Tennesse's laws on spinners?.......You didn't mention you were using any......How about shakers, pucks, jerk line, etc.? for motion?

We had 3 spinning wing teal mojos out just the batteries were half dead and the big battery for the mallard machine was dead. Had that all been in order today might have been different. And as to the jerk string that was the fatal flaw in our design of the blind.
