First experience for me! Producer 7/17-7/18

Always thought it would be so awesome to find a women who shares the same passions as myself.......
My father and I got invited by my girlfriend and her father to join them on an over night trip. My dad and I decided it would be a good oppertunity to shake the bugs out before our long range trip in August. Needless to say there is nothing quit like spending time with a few people you love who share your same passions!!! After all isn't that what being in the outdoors is all about, family, friends, memories.
Rode the producer, great crew, small boat for my liking but it was just an overnighter.....
Tuna started biting around 5 A.M. and bite shut down around 11 A.M.
conditions were superb with calm flat water nice little spots of rain and an amazing lightning show, while tunas hit the deck!!
Boat decked 29 Bluefin and 70 Yellowfin
Most tuna came on the shimano flat fall in any color with chrome on it in the 80G-160G

If any of you are planning on going offshore make sure you grab some shimano Flat Fall jigs in the 100 G range they are a very good tool to have in the arsenal....... we lost a lot of jigs that day!!

Guys bring HEAVY gear, consider adding some wire to your jigs to cut down on jig loss and circle hooks are a must. We are fishing nothing lighter than 50lb fluro

Ya i use 50 for jigs and i been soaking sardines on 40lb fluro and honestly the tuna seem to be eating the anchovy better so i been throwing 25lb fluro with a 1/2 oz sliding sinker on a #2 ringed fly liner hook
