I had seen a big covey a few weeks back and went out looking for them this week. Unfortunately they were not around so I headed to my regular spot.
I invited one of my crew guy to go with me, he's never been hunting...after a little while we found the birds and I ended up shooting four quails and missed a few rabbits.
One of the quails was a head shot, poor thing got blown off! Not the one in the picture where he's holding the head, that one was injured and I pulled the head off.
The vegetation got denser and the rabbits were hard to see. Unfortunately I ran out of shotgun shells and we headed back to the truck.
On the way home we stopped at another spot to look for rabbits but no luck there.
My buddy was super happy and loved the experience.
