G3 Buck Down

Hi Guys - had a great hunt with some amazing friends. Drew this G3 Goodale tag on my 4th year which was unreal, I was also so lucky to have some of the best so cal bow hunters and friends be able to help me out on this hunt. Being an archery guy also I was planning to use my bow but also put some practice rounds down range just in case with the 7mm. We scouted only one day the weekend before and came up the day before the season opened and looked like it was going to be a tougher hunt than normal due to the warmer weather we were still able to find some great bucks. During the scouting session we final spotted a great buck right before dark and (VS) watched him bed down with about 5 does. Showed up first light opening day and there he was and the stock was on. Kingwouldbe and HumbeHunter went on the stock with me with VS directing us right into him. We were able to press up really close at about 22 yards for the 1st shot. He was only focused on the does as they were rutting hard. Got a good 1st shot on him but it looked a little low and when he stopped out at 70 was able to put a second arrow just to be safe, he ran about another 40 yards and we were able to watch him drop. This was an unbelievable hunt with such great friends, it wouldn't have been the same with out them and their experience to make this all come together. Everyone needs to go check this hunt out next year super cool to see great deer all over the hills.

Were thinking he is about ~160 with a 26" inside spread, 5x4

Congrats that’s a great buck ! Good job and even cooler and more rewarding to kill with a bow. Still awesome to hear of guys drawing this hunt without max points and off of the random. I applied for it for 12 years and never drew then gave up and burned my points in x9a. Everyonce in a while i throw in on the g3 hunt in hopes of getting the random so it’s awesome to see someone get it and gives hope to others. Congrats !
