Done a bit of hunting here and there, not good, trying to get better when time allows.

I have, but not successfully. I think I just missed the tune-up?

They are on my goal list for sure! I’m lucky enough to have random weekdays free from work and hope to use that to enjoy our public land when a bit less crowded.

Keep at it, weekdays are the best. Will have the whole place to yourself. I hunted a weekend last season, it was awful.

For sure. Free weekdays are like a super power. No competition. I’ve done guided trips, the guides are stoked to fill in a Wednesday with a hunt.

I remember one archery season, parking at the trailhead and walking about 50 yards in and pausing to let my eyes acclimate to the dark. Some guy comes stomping up from the dark and informs me he’s “hunting this spot.” It’s good entertainment at least!
