Oh so sad I have to respond once again....
I never said it was about my 'feelings'.
You said to keep telling myself I was making a difference. and I said Thx and it feels great.
Why? It's because I feel GREAT about making a difference. It's called taking action. You are too stuck in some opinion, that while you are entitled to it, you are not at all understanding the ACTIONS that we are taking here DO matter. Maybe not to your liking. But they are to us.
I have personally gone to the capital and helped lobby assembly members on issues that affect us duck hunters, and to help open their eyes to how CWA , hunters and others make a difference on the landscape. And yes, I have talked to those with a different political bent than myself. Its quite enjoyable to do so, kind of a kick to 'argue', and in some cases, find common ground, It can be done if you come in with facts, and not just opinions.
I have been blessed to have the time do thaT, as well as other 'actions'. I have been gratified when hunters here are asked to help out, maybe make a call or write a letter, or sign on to Action alerts etc. , that they gladly help out.
I honestly hate having to come on here and respond to someone that has a closed mind, and can't just give his opinion without making cracks about those that are trying to improve our situation. The sky is falling...Oh my! I LISTED examples of wins, but you chose to belittle the fact that I mentioned hunting Swans as just one of those wins. As I said, ID requires tages to do so. CA doesn't. But hey!! We get to now, when we never did before.
Who do you think was instrumental in getting a 3 Pintail limit? It was conservation groups (HUNTERS) taking Action. CWA was a front runner in the development of the data that go us to this point. And getting the USFWS to make the change. Hunters involvement and Action to get the data and create the modeling to prove 3 was doable is what made the difference. Letters and calls, meetings...for years. Finally paid off. Yeah team, eh?
It's great to moved to ID, and it's Great you enjoy all the benefits of living there. Good for you.
But, there are those of us that like where we live. We might despise the politics here, but we have full and rich lives, hunt waterfowl, fish, enjoy the mountains and the oceans. There is a lot to enjoy, as there is in ID.
Go out and enjoy what you have, and we'll do the same.
