Henshaw is alive!

Last year there was a terrible algae bloom at Lake Henshaw...VID "Blue Stoned" the lake late in the summer and 1,000's of fish died...In fact, so many that there was concerned that none survived (carp & catfish excluded)...Well, I honestly can say...They did not all die...Caught 3 in about an hour, just walking the shore...Also, one of the VID employees caught a 9 lb'er a few days ago...Love that lake...

I also fished Will Valley pond today as well...Caught probably at least 15 bass...After it got so low, I was wondering if any of those fished survived...They obviously did...

Crazy how high that lake is in the background. The waterfowl hunting should be totally different next year up there for blinds etc.

Sweetwater Authority drained Loveland Reservoir and killed all the fish.

The fish survived surprisingly even though the lake was a puddle down by the damn. I went a few times over summer and a lot of bass thinking they'd be all skinny and unhealthy because of the loss of fish, but every single one was was healthy and fat.

The lake is also so full that at one point in early summer the water was up almost to the road.

Most of the bass washed down from upper lake. Yes, some of the fish survived from the drain to .05%. There has been a lot of lake user advocates that has been on SWA butt for the draining to include running up there inhouse bills with Public Record Search documents. Senator Brian Jones gave them $750K to make some lake enhancements and the floating dock will be redone under SWA's insurance. Still a ways to go. They are now harassing lake users for going up to the east end of the lake to fish. There are a few like myself and others that are advocating for more to be done to include the states Water Resource Board. There are a lot of violations between the easement and SWA. Forest Service is not doing there part.

Yes. I fished there Saturday and some bass being caught are in the 3 lb range. I did catch one catfish @ 7 inches.
