HER FIRST TURKEY HUNT

So tomorrow I have been drawn to hunt the CORRAL at Lake Sutherland, and i'm taking my 8 yr old Ember.
This will be her first hunt of any kind. Looking for any tips for the Corral, and for ME, to make this a MEMORABLE HUNT. I know its late, but any comments might help. THANKS

Last I heard the birds were roosted in a clump of oaks in the revine above the corral. Take a single hen decoy and soft call. Be ready to sit all day if your daughter is able to.

Not too many multiple hens roaming around now and with the amount of jakes rolling around, I have found that a jake decoy might keep a gobbler hung up out of range. A single up right hen or a feeder will be much more natural this time of the year.

As far as turkey hunting it was terrible. We didn't hear a single gobble, or see a single bird.Other then that she had a great time.She got to see a few deer, couple squirrels, and just be in the outdoors. Man is it green out there.We left about noon for I didn't want her first time out to be a total bad experience.
after she told her mom she had a great time, it was all good. until are next hunt.
Daughter number 3 hunts bloomdale on the 3 so maybe will have better luck.

on april 5th one of my hunters got a nice gobbler out of the corral, previous hunts 2 jakes were taken from the corral, the hunter on the 5th said there were only 3 jakes left in that group from the corral
