I posted for the fist time a while back seeking interested hunting companions based in Southern California. This post is meant to expand on my original introduction.
I am 63, retired and have lead a colorful life. Though my first priority is God and family, I am blessed with a wife who often gives me the nod to chase adventure. Much of which has been hunting the West. My usual hunting buddies have developed health limitations keeping them home and the younger generation is not willing to devote the time & effort needed to get involved. Hunting on my own has never been a problem for me but my wife would prefer I did not for obvious safety concerns.
I have included a photo of my antler overflow wall in my garage. I chase mule deer, occasionally couse deer, elk and upland game when convenient. I primarily hunt with a rifle, muzzleloader, shotgun and sometimes a bow. Casting no judgement, all my hunting is DIY on public land.
I have authored a handful of hunting articles back when magazines were the primary source of information for the sportsman. I have backpacked the PCT, JMT and summited a few of the higher mountains in the world. I am a certified farrier, wilderness equine packer and Master Gunner champion in my younger years.
We are currently in the middle of application season so making something happen for this fall hunting season is probably not a reality. Additionally developing a new hunting relationship will take time. I believe who you hunt with and enjoying the experience is far more important than being successful. I am open to mentoring less experienced hunters.
If this sounds like a good fit, email me.
Thanks for giving this a read and good hunting.
