o ya I have had close calls with these suckers, once walking to the car right next to the car door, I almost stepped on one. a baby side winder coiled up in the sand with his head sticking out, I barely saw it. I have killed 3 so far, one next to a pond next to house, an other was alerted by Parker my coon dog.
