Girlfriend and I are currently on Lanai and made it happen on the first evening.
She still lives on Oahu but had work Friday so I got to fly in at 7AM and hunted during the day. Did a lot of walking and found a couple valleys that were promising. Tons of sheep but a few groups of deer.
Picked her up around 4 and drove right to the same area. She missed a shot on a doe a few hundred yards from the truck but we eventually ran into another herd and she connected perfectly on this buck at 150 yards right at sunset. Only downside was that every store was closed by the time we finished cleaning it and got back to Lanai City.
Her first big game animal after we couldn’t make it happen for her on Big Island sheep. She moves back to CA soon and is still active so I see the Pendleton deer tag in her future.
