For anyone going to the Palomar area tomorrow, let me know if you'd like to meet for a late breakfast around 10am. I'll be on the mountain from 6:45-10am. Hopefully I'll limit out by then and will have a great late breakfast at Henshaw Resort Restaurant.

me and a buddy will be up there, weve got the same gameplan after we get our huge limit, we'll be trying to knock off some crows, then head for breakfast.

I experienced the same. Very few band tails this year (I'm wondering if it is another El Niño effect).
I saw about 15 band tails and didn't get any.
Searched/hiked until 11am, but the few band tails I saw were all between 7am and 8am.

I scouted up there Tuesday and never saw a bird......In fact, never saw an acorn.......Really off year compared to last year, which was unbelievable.

Another hunter mentioned that the pigeons last year came down with some sort of virus, they were dropping
Dead and we may not see many birds, has anyone else heard of this.

I read somewhere there's a parasite that's been devastating a lot of the BTs up north.. they get nasty big growths inside their throat and eventually starve. Curious if anyone's seen one with it here in SD? That said, my buddy went out for BTs on opener and only saw 1... not a good sign.
