Montana 2014

Just rolled in from Montana this morning......Been there since last Sunday......This ranch belongs to my former neighbor......Game rich is an understatement and the fishing is unbelievable.

Went with an old friend and he shot a white-tail and spike bull the 1st two days. I really wanted a bigger bull and ended up passing on many lesser animals and cows (which we were allowed).....I ended up not getting an elk, but did get a nice muley buck.....I had many great hunts and to be honest. That's all I was really all I wanted.....My old neighbor pretty much road hunts the ranch.....OK, but just not what I wanted on this trip.....At 66, it was all about being in the woods. The buck I got was not the biggest I saw or could've killed, but the hunt was classic. My buddy shot a spike Friday. So, I have plenty of elk to eat......All trout were released unharmed.....The policy of all these Montanians........lol

Game rich it is...when I was in Montana I would count about 50 to 60 whitetail deer from trout creek to Thompson falls every morning and turkeys were every where. Tons of elk and black bear also.

Thanks guys..........It was an awesome trip and Montana is like being in a different world.....Plenty of .22 shells, guns out in the open, and everybody wearing camo........lol
