I think that's it. The eye socket sits right below the horns. I wish I had some of his other mounts. My great grandmother donated them to a college back east that has a football stadium named after him. My dad said they donated rhino horns, tusks, Cape buffalo horns, African drums, and all sorts of stuff. My grandmother went back years ago and wanted to see the display in the college museum. Nobody had any idea what they were talking about. What a shame. At least I have this...

I would say a 1920's impala. They don't often grow that big anymore.

Oryx have horns that go straight up not in a spiral or a curl
