Picked up a Howa Ranchland in .223- I wanted a red dot on it because I love how easy it is to acquire targets And considering it the was my 10/22 is set up and wanting that same target acquisition time I decided to go with the Leupold RDS. This gun is going to be my primary yote gun and should turn out. It currently sits way to high with the 1 piece ring system it came with so I ordered up some new rings. Should be here by Friday. I’ll keep this thread updated as we go from start to finish.

No pics of range results but she sendin them down range at the 1 MOA mark. Think a turkey gun with a red dot. Quick target acquisition mixed with a laser beam =‘s DEAD…

What is the range on a setup like that? I haven't dabbled much in the red dot world, and my understanding was that they were for short ranges?

@RKE I stretched her out to 500 and rang steel but with no magnification shit starts looking real small. Basically iron sights so your guess is mine. I’ll be honest tho, the BDS on this particular Red Dot is pretty rad. Thanks for the info! Seems like a great option (or something similar) for the .243 I have sitting in the safe right now. I've been kicking around how to best set it up for deer season.

Bro...need 3 of those flathats!! I'd say 4 but I can't do it, ..way to old....they available for purchase?
