Obviously not the biggest buck but it was a successful hunt. NM has had tremendous rains the last few weeks so all the game is more spread out than normal. We scouted the day before the opener and only saw a few bucks and also noted some unaccompanied doe groups which were concerning. Opening morning we saw nothing until about 10 am when we spotted this guy with his does. After about an hour we were able to stalk to 250 and I dropped him in his tracks. 143 grain ELDX 6.5 Creedmoor. Bergara Timber, Leupold VX5 HD 4-20x52

Nice work Bob...that sage maggot had no idea he was killed with a ,6.5...off to the freezer he goes.....prolly my favorite game meat . I love NM.
