Looks like the Nixon Fire about to cross into Northern San Diego. If it gets into the beauty mountain area its going to burn scorched earth hot, so thick in there, both sides of the trails is literally like a wall of brush you couldnt even machete through. Much needed just hope they can protect the homes.

I really hope this year's fire season isn't like 2020 when they shut down all the National Forests.

Two pretty good rain years in a row, we should be in better shape this year than we were then. Places I have seen this year were greener later in the year than average. That said, places that haven’t burned in many decades with incredibly dense brush like describe above in Beauty Mountain Wilderness will probably burn given the chance regardless of the moisture content in the brush.

Last time it burned does not show on any maps so its been along time. I dont think it will cross the 79, burning away with the current wind, it will clean it up for sure which is a good thing and the containment line will be a nice addition depending on where they stop it. They may also have to grade Cienega truck trail to get equiptment in and out, no way your taking an engine or trailored equiptment through there in its current condition.

I was supposed to work OT on the second in engine that day so glad someone took the shift from me best lost overtime day ever
