Did a solo road hunting and deer scouting trip in the northern Oregon Cascades, west slope, yesterday and ended up with a unique slam consisting of one ruffed grouse, one brush rabbit, one mountain quail, and one band tailed pigeon. It was the last day of band tail season here and I only saw a few but managed one. Could’ve shot more quail but didn’t feel like chasing em down in the thick cover. Fall color is starting to appear.
