We live in California, but want to go out east to visit family Has anyone turkey hunted in the mid-south? Here are the 3 places I've narrowed down in case anyone has any experience or could give me some advice.

1) http://www.huntingkentuckydeer.com/kentucky-turkey-hunting.html

2) http://www.bosleroutfitters.com/prices.html

3) http://www.strut-n-rutoutfitters.com/turkey.php

Wish that I could offer some input, but I've never used those outfitters. They all look great and a lot of fun!

I wouldn't hunt with #1. It sounds like you are on your own with no intel. That might be why the price is so good. I like #3 semi guided. They sound like they practice some kind of management program.

Where in the mid-south? My brothers live in VA and I'll be out there next weekend for a shoot in the tidewater region. I can ask around if you can narrow your search for me.

Where are you staying (state)?......The 3 outfitters you posted are in 3 different states......I suggest Kansas, if it's not to far away......Some of the best turkey country I've ever hunted.....Tons of public land too.

I kinda like the Kentucky hunt (I personally don't like hunting with guides).....$600.00 bucks is to access private property and a cabin for 3 nights seems pretty good (Kansas gets $650.00 a day.....1 bird). Just read their format. Again I like it......Private property, but no one holding your hand.....Another important factor is, how far into the season or is this for their opener?

I'd call and ask for references too.....2 cents
