Pop’s 80th birthday - things got a little fishy

Dad wanted his boys to take him fishing for his birthday so we took Him and the Whaler out to the horseshoe today. Conditions were cold and sloppy early, but transitioned into warm and pretty flat by mid day. We fished various reefs and wrecks with plastics, squid strips and I even threw some iron. Caught lots of calicos and rockfish, sculpin, sand bass and sheepshead. Really good fishing overall. Best part of the day was watching Dad haul in lots of fish. Strangest moment was when I caught a 4 Oz sand dab on a 4 Oz Colt Sniper lol.

It is evident that you guys had a great time.
I took my dad turkey hunting last year ( he’s 77 yo) and after walking a few hundred yards he told me “ next time Fabi... take me fishing “ , so I will follow your lead and take him fishing.
