Poway mountain lions

We are coming to a point where the lions are over capacity. This is going to only get worse and worse. It will end bad really bad. Sadly they will never legalize lion hunting again in this state. Common sense is not that common around here.

If only we had a sane state that would allow us to buy tags to hunt them instead of use our tax money to hire people to kill them quietly and bury them. More CA libtard logic.

What's crazy is that the 1990 law, I believe, prohibits CDFW from even making recommendations for a hunting season, despite the fact that biologists have determined that the population is not only stable but steadily increasing in most areas. The problem with that is, not only is it having a negative impact on our deer and ranchers in rural areas, but lions are increasingly expanding their hunting to the fringes of suburban areas as they compete amongst each other (apex predators have established habitats where only a certain number of dominant animals hunt). The ironic part of all of this is the same folks that whine about seeing more lions in their neighborhood are also the same kind of people that want to protect them and would continue to support such laws. Not saying we should eradicate lions, but why can't our state legislature look into common sense management of these animals (e.g. a trial hunting program for starters) instead of wasting time on plastic straw bans and gendered bathrooms? Sorry for the rant...

More and more examples keep popping up of lions seen in pairs or more. Maybe they will start to form prides.
Can’t be good for the ecosystem, both prey and predator species are getting taken out by lions.

I am having custom made 10in fighter Bowie knife made as a last line of defense for my archery hunt. I 've heard already if a lion has you he has you but I will go gentle into that good night......

wow. thats why i look over my shoulder when im in the woods. interesting post about what the state has done with lions over the years. i was listening to the meateater podcast a week ago and they had brought up this issue. to bad the state will use tax payer money to "solve" this problem. from what i have gathers the state hires contactor to preety much catch and destroy the lions when the hunters of CA can harvest the animal the proper way. another sad point they brought but, its pretty much impossible to bring an animal from the no hunt list. i feel its going to take a more than sightings and pets to get hurts for the state to even raise its brow.
