Got up early and hit the woods before the rains were going to hit.....Not a ton of gobbles, but did put visuals on a number of birds, mostly on MCC.....I even had a single jake come in, gobbling all the way.....Probably won't last long, because he had a visible beard.....;)

The sun came out and so did ground grizzlies.....Don't like shooting too many this time of year. They'll be pupping soon.....Stopped at 6.

ps.....Nice seeing some Ringer's on one of the ponds too.

I recognized the HMRs work right away. I got the exact same gun and love it. I will learn to post up pics, cuz I sure enjoy everyone elses

Probably gonna run up there tomorrow with the boys for the same kind of day. I want to hit the archery range up also haven't shot it yet and I guess we have full access.

Looks like a great day Steve! Glad to see you saw some gobblers. See any goldens up in MG? Saw a pair back there a few weeks back. Awesome birds.

And Drew, the range is good. Keep a look out for ground hornets though. The main range had a few nests near the line you stand to shoot. Had a few land on my arm and sting me while at full draw. Lost that arrow lol

Tom, I thought Mike got those hornets cleaned out. No?

Yep Tom......One big guy swooped down on a wounded grass rat.....I guess he decided to just wait till I left.....I have a picture of one eagle with a orange number on his wing.....They definitely like the free food.

Cros,

It's a great area for squirrels.....More like prairie dogs really.....From a couple of days ago......

ps...After watching your hunts, I almost feel like I'm cheatin' with my .17....;)

Hey Blaze, welcome to the SCH.
This was probably on private property.
And if you spend some time reading posts around here, you'll see that nobody is going to give up there 'honey hole' or hot spot.
Think about it; if you had a great spot with lots of game, would you tell every stranger on the web?
It takes time to get to know guys on line that will trust each other enough to share a hunt or a good spot. But it happens all the time. Good luck.

This was on a place called MCC (My Country Club).....It's a hunting club that is based out of Lake Henshaw in San Diego Co.....It also offers deer, turkey, dove, quail, waterfowl, predator, and fishing at the lake.

ps.....No prairie dogs in Cali, that I know of.
