scouting trip delay

Turkeys like most ground birds don't like cold, wet weather....Some days they won't even leave the roost trees or they stay very close to them......Hence, hard to find or see.

we ended up going back to the 15 and around we saw 4 deer, but the fog and drizzle was thick couldnt tell if they were buck or doe

me and Dansandiego are being held against our will do to a road closure 67 north at poway rd....CHP said it would be soon....well weve been here for an hour

Hope u guys made it up there and found some leads.. unfortunately I'll be missing most of turkey season this year. Go get em guys.

Those deer were like ‘elk in the mist.’ They seemed big and well fed. Agree with BigBangBrandon that turkeys are scarce again this year. Hopefully some managed to stay warm during the spring rains. Most CNF gates closed these days and if the rain continues (even only one day per week) it will mean lots more hiking required once March 31st arrives.

I’m starting to hear that many hunters may sit out the Spring turkey season. Not me, I’ll be getting out every chance I get because a day in the field beats anything.
