Shotgun Question

I plan on popping lots of Euros this season! I currently have a 12GA pump and thinking about a break action. Anybody have any thoughts about 12GA vs. 20 GA? By the way, as I wright this post I'm listening to a pair or Euros calling from the power lines behind my house, they are taking over!

while not exactly a thought on what is better..... its simply a choice between more shot or less leaving the barrel. A nice 20ga like a citori lightning would make a fine dove gun.

12ga guns do not tear up meat any more than a 20 does it just gives you the ability to open up the choke at a given distance with the same pattern density. example would be that at 30 yards you could shoot a cyl choke with a 12 while you might have to shoot a mod with with a 20 to get the same number of pellets in a given circle.

Thanks, Does one have more or less recoil? Less pain after an afternoon or dove hunting?

20 kicks a little less than 12 in my opinion but if you want lower recoil, look at an auto loader.

Are you going to have multiple guns for multiple species? Or this is strictly a dove gun? Also, your pocketbook will determine what quality of shotgun you may get. I know the boys I've advised saved their money and bought camo Benelli M-2's..........Soft shooting, can shoot the lightest of dove loads, reliable, very light weight, and can still shoot the biggest of waterfowl.

If you want a O/U.........I would probably stick with the 20 gauge Citori as well........There's some good deals out there, if you shop some......2 cents.

I have a pump 12GA, and an auto load I got from my uncle who used it for pheasant and ducks. Looking for an additional dove and quail gun. My son says that they get kind of hot after a while and need to rest to cool down. Price is always a factor. Seen the Maverick over under in 12GA. Just wondering if a change to a 20GA additional shotgun is a good idea or should I stay with what I have.
(I tend to over analyze a bit but appreciate your input)

Here's a couple of articles about O/U's under a 1000 bucks.........I won a Stoeger Condor Deluxe a couple years back.......Not a bad little o/u.......The 2nd review is about the Mossberg Maverick.......Not a very good review.
