Back in the 1870s marshalls corned some convicts escaped from Carson City prison. Location was at the creek mouth. A Marshall named Morrison was killed, they named the mountain behind the lake Mount Morrison. I might be off a little but not too far. Old west high country western movie type stuff.Thanks. Yes. I didn't get a chance to research yet, but as a blanket statement I was going to say I have seen it from south to north in the Sierras, so I would assume there are multiple sources.You were right, seems there are local obsidian sources:
