I wish fish and game would stock the SoCal mountains with bucks, like they do for trout. Instead of pulling up to the lakes with tanks of fish, they could pull up to the fire roads with cattle trailers, a week before the opener. Opening morning would be madness, like the Battle of Antietam.

I have an old book about Southern California wildlife and it talks about speed goats in the Warner Springs area along with S22 towards Borrego. Before my time but maybe someone can confirm.

They don't even stock trout any more.

And very few pheasants as well.....But, make sure you have that upland stamp.

They don't do much of anything here in SoCal, they mostly work in NorCal.
