Elk absolutely jump fences.....Although the top wire normally gets whacked.

The Goats that I have seen jump fences have been in the area between Carrizozo and the ghost town of White Oaks. The Bull Elk was near Ancho, NM. Mr. Bull was bedded down under the Junipers for a midday siesta and he jumped the fence onto BLM. One of these years I plan to do like Truduct with this Bull or his kin, just need to figure out how to do it legally cause he frequents my and my brother's land.
