Good time to be out this last week, everything just seems to be “waking up” in full force. Went to a new ID area w/no snow and nice cool temps. Buddy and I hiked in a couple of miles of “steepish” terrain with our day packs and found an encouraging spot that had minimal signs of hunting pressure. Bumped several whitetail deer and had turkeys gobbling. Saw some fresh elk tracks and scat, and a decent fresh shed was there on the game trail. Bobcat but no mountain lion or wolf tracks. We’ve got this spot pinned for a future outing, hopefully it pans out.
