So I took my Royal Rangers group up to Henshaw this morning to earn their fishing merit. Well they earned it big time no one caught a thing and they all froze their little nuts off. At least they got a good taste of what fishing is.
Around 11 I had enough. I had my two boys and my buddy Ryan's two sons with me. Ryan is over seas kicking down doors for two years defending our country. It was his sons first time really experiencing anything like today. It really put into perspective the sacrifices families make to keep us safe. I get to hunt and fish with my kids every weekend while he is over seas.
Long story short I hiked the boys about 8 miles looking for squirrels and anything cool we can find. We came home with a bunch of bones and I am sure they had a day that they will remember forever.
Ended up finding 7 of my squirrels a few wormed their way down holes. Had a first today shot a pregnant female and instead of guts falling out baby squirrels did. The boys thought it was awesome it's all they can talk about.
