Tahoe Day 1

Drove up to Tahoe yesterday with my kayak to target mackinaw, and kokanee salmon.

On the way up the 395 through Bridgeport saw some nice X12 bucks in trucks out front of Kens Sporting goods.

Last night a bear broke into the small lodge I am staying at to take a look around. Left some nice dirty tracks in the hallway outside my room.


Today was day one of fishing. Real learning curve for me. Completely different style of fishing from what I am used to. Took me a while to get my weight/dodger/lure set up just right but after a few wasted hours in the morning I was able to land a decent sized kokanee.


I tried jigging for Mackinaw but no luck, but was happy to land a kokanee today. Heading out earlier tomorrow.

Cool fish; good luck on the rest of your trip. Good thing you had your Do Not Disturb sign on your room door or you might have had some real excitement with Mr bear.

I heard a hotel employee outside my room on the phone with her boss telling them what happened. I thought it was a dream because I was so tired lol. I woke up in the am and saw the paw tracks and was like oh shit that was real lol.

I asked the front desk what happened. They said the bear came in through a back door, walked down the hall, went upstairs, took a look around and left.
